We Have an Event for the 19+ Crowd... Our First Gay Night!

When we first began producing events back in 2003, we actually went looking for the South Asian gay community... to no avail. Fast forward 6 years and they are loud, proud and ready to rock out. We hope this event will be the first of many we produce in conjunction with Sher Vancouver. 100% of proceeds from this event go to support Sher Vancouver and the great outreach work they do in the community. High Society @ Ginger 62 -- Only 5 Left!
Get on the guestlist, yes? As always, email guestlist@atownpresents.com. Guestlist requests are closed at 3pm on the day of the gig. July 30, 2009 @ 8pm 23+ Mature Clientele Doors: 8pm -- Guestlist ends at 10:30pm, expect to be in the regular line after 10:30pm. **Our rules for cover charges have changed. Guestlist gets you priority entry, and cover charge is now $15 across the board. |
Guestlist Issues Holy crap. We never thought we'd be saying this, but there are too many people coming out to these gigs... they are insane. On June 25th, 2009, the door staff of Ginger 62 had the dubious distinction of turning away over 120 people from our event. Unfortunately, some people had to wait in line for over an hour... others got frustrated and left. This upsets us greatly. We don't want to miss out on the opportunity to hang with our loyal partygoers at the last five events... so, we'd like to review our guestlist procedure to ensure that the regular patrons are given the priority they deserve. If you have any questions, comments or concerns please email info@atownpresents.com or call 604.825.1379.
Guestlist closes at 10:30pm. Please arrive well before 10:30pm to ensure that we can accomodate you and your group. If you are celebrating a birthday or an anniversary or have some other special occasion requiring special attention, please direct your requests to guestlist@atownpresents.com. We love making people happy, so you are sure to be taken care of. For everyone else, doors are at 8pm and there is nothing wrong with coming in early for a drink... do it, and avoid the lines. |

So, You Don't Believe It's Ending? High Society... this event that started it all... this event that kicked off a scene... this event that we love so much is truly ending this year. This isn't the end of A-Town Productions, but it is truly the end of High Society. After a 6 year run in total (3.5 years of that at Ginger 62) of having the absolute best South Asian night in the city--that just keeps getting better--we realize that the challenge is gone. We have no competition in this city and there is doubt that we ever will. So, we are bringing this night to a close to move on to new challenges and to find new ways of creating social change--and yes, Sanjay, of shifting the paradigm.
There are some who have expressed suspicion. There are some who believe we are engaged in some sort of marketing ploy to milk cover charges and dupe the masses... this has never been the case with A-Town and it will never be our modus operandi. We lover our loyal party-goers and we want to see you all at our last few events. Please don't miss out on one of the last five nights of an event that will go down in history as the first, the most successful, and the most amazing South Asian nightlife experience in Vancovuer. If you still think this is a marketing ploy and that we have no intention of canceling High Society... we're taking bets. Feel lucky? ;) A-Town |
